Ingersoll-Rand sander repair?

I bought an I-R air sander and soon broke off the flow regulator switch, the little black plastic, 1/4 turn selector to the left of the throttle. I've searched several times for parts or repair services without success including, months ago, an email to I-R which has gone unanswered. Does anyone know who can replace the switch or is this another throw-away tool, a cheap, crappy, Chinese import under once-famous brand names?
