I bought a brand new Dewalt 734 planner 7 months ago or so. very little use but I removed the tool cover to get access to the blades and I found oil on the foam gasket right under the motor. I only can assume it's coming from the motor. I just googled it and another guy bought a floor model and had very same issue and everyone assumed someone had shot WD40 in it as a floor model. Since mine is brand new it appears this is not an isolated case. So the question is, has anyone else ever found this or heard of it?

Thanks Jerry

Never heard of it but I would hold off on using the planer until you speak with a DeWalt customer service rep.

Called DeWalt, they gave me a center in Indianapolis. The guy there had never heard of it and I will be taking it there very soon.
