Hi,

I picked up a DEWALT DW304PK 10 Amp Reciprocating Saw for around-the-home use. Does anyone have a recommendation as to which brand of blade set to get with this because to my surprise ithe unit doesn't even come w/ a single blade. Preferably, I'd like the set to have a case that will fit inside the saw cloth case (wish that was a hard shell instead but it was reasonably-priced after the sale). I see all the major manufacturers make these and they're all pretty close in price for the set so which to get. Probably wouldn't use it too much for metal so I'm leaning more for wood or dual-purpose blades.

If the Dewalt blades are of the same quality as the Dewalt drills then I'd steer clear of the brand...garbage quality.

Here's a Fine Homebuilding test....says Bosch is tops. I would agree based on my own experience.

Calvin,

I bought this set (http://www.amazon.com/Milwaukee-49-22-1129-12-Piece-Ultimate-Demolition/dp/B000BYAZLE/ref=lp_552332_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1371390265&sr=1-3)when I bought my Dewalt recip saw. It's handled everything I've wanted to do so far which has been to cut some PT 4x4s when I built by deck, to cut down a 2" galvanized pole the previous owner had a TV dish mounted on, and to cut thru some screws holding shelving to a wall. I like the plastic case too as it fits inside the dewalt tool bag.

I use the lennox blades most of the time. I work a lot in the field and the electricians and plumbers mostly use them also.

I prefer Bosch and/or Milwaukee blades in my DW304PK. 9 times out of 10 I use the "demolition" blades - just in case I hit a nail or something. For cutting metal, like bolts, I use a $10 Harbor Freight angle grinder. I'm a bit disappointed though in the DW304PK itself. The horizontal blade holder no longer works & the vertical holder is getting iffy.

Thanks all for your input, link to article, and confirming that the blades do work fine in this unit! I think I'll go w/ the Milwaukee set seems like a good all-around set of blades and since they made their name on this tool type that can't be a bad thing. I suspect for my occasional use this is more than good enough and probably any of these would had done a good job.

Ditto on the Lennox blades. They always do what I ask of them.
