Greetings all.

I have been away from my lathe for most of this year but did manage to clean up and rough out some wood I have had laying around and in a large freezer.

Here are a few pictures of a small burl(?) that I found in the wood pile. I have never turned any burls and usually don't do too many small items and as a result I am unsure what I should with it.

I've considered a small hollow form, a small lidded N/E vessel or box.

If anyone has any suggestions I would certainly appreciate hearing them.

Thanks in advance.

Pete,

A small HF, with the opening on the bottom, so that you get maximum wood surface exposed.

Not seen a joiner's rule like that for years - my father used to have one.

Hi Brian. Thanks for the suggestion, still not sure what I will do.
As far as the joiners rule goes, I have several other even older tools.

How about a Christmas ornament?

Thanks Jay. Another good idea.
