Paslode Finish nail gun won't fire....

I have a Paslode 3250-F16 finish nail gun. I bought it brand new about 18 years ago. I just ordered a rebuild kit (o-ring set and top nylon cylinder seat (?)) and I have rebuilt all inside the main cylinder area with the parts that came in the kit. It no longer leaks air through the cylinder but now when I pull the trigger, the air comes out the holes in the trigger plunger and the air never really drive the plunger in the air cylinder to push a nail.

Did I miss something somewhere in the rebuild?

Is the piston pushed all the way up in the cylinder?

Yes. I made sure of that.

I don't know about the Paslode, but a Bostitch nailer with that problem needs the head valve (plastic piece in the cylinder head) replaced. At least it did for me.
