I noticed that the Oneida 2hp Cyclone motor is showing as a single-phase 115/208-203, (in the Grizzly Cyclones comparison) Most motors I saw are speced as 115/220, can someone shed some light on this standard.

Looks to me as just another mistake in the numbers they post.

My guess is that it is a type. Probably should be 115/208/230. Call Onieda to verify, but I bet that will be the answer. Jim.

I'm guessing 115/208-203 is a misprint, and it should be 115/208-230. If so, Onieda is saying that the motor can run on single-phase 230 volts, and also on two legs of 208 volt 3-phase.

Yes it is a misprint, should be 208-230 as in the Oneida Web-site

If it really says 115/208-203 that is a typo. It should read 115/208-230. This is a standard nameplate stamping. It just means tha the motor can be wired for 110 or 220.

Since we're talking about Oneida motors here, I need help. I have my Gorilla about ready to mount but don't understand the schematic. I'm not going to use the magnetic switch because I have a remote. Do any of you recent Gorilla buyers have any suggestions? By the way it has the Baldor motor. Thanks in advance for any clarifications. Jim:cool:

Jamie is correct! The motor is capable of running at 208v or at 230v. In a typical
single phase eviroment the available voltage will be 120/240 but in the three phase system you'll have 120/208v. All this means (120/208-230) is that the motor can be connected to a 120 volt source or to 208 through 230 volts on the other connection depending if you have a single or three phase system.

This does'nt make your motor a three phase motor it just allows it to function in a voltage range.:)

I sold my switch with came with the Gorilla as I too used a remote. All I did was attach a plug to the motor.
