This weeks project - DRO for my Mill - Shumatech DRO550 and iGaging Chinese Scales

Here is my DIY Shumatech DRO550 and some iGaging (Cheap Chinese) 21bit scales I just assembled and got loaded up. The project uses an ARM processor and opendro software. Pretty trick setup!! Pic showing 3 12" but the mill's X will get a 24" scale. Bought a 36" and 12" scale for the lathe as the price was super awesome.

Next up will be a DRO for the lathe based on the same igaging scales and an Arduino Uno/Bluetooth/and an Android Tablet.

Hi Mike,

Where did you obtain your 550? I've been wanting to get one these to set up some scales on an old RongFu 45, but they have been out of stock for YEARS!

Posted on their yahoo message group and bought one from a member. Wish I had a second one. Did you see Yuri's Android tablet/bluetooth/ArduinoUNI DRO project??
