These two nearly identical carvings will go into recessed arched panels over some cabinetry. The difference lies in the outermost sections where one is slightly longer than the other to fit into a slightly longer arch.
On another post somewhere I mentioned that I purposely break carvings, carve them and put them back together again. I did that with these carvings as you can see in the uncarved one the ends are broken off. Cutting them doesn't work nearly as well as breaking them.
One of the reasons is the end sections are so delicate chances are they'd break off anyway so I might as well control where it gets broken. And the second reason is with a 4 ft. long design getting it through a band saw presents it's own difficulties. So, break them. Makes life a whole lot easier.
