I was invited to a Ribbon Cutting ceremony today for a building the company I work for designed and built. They had Gov. Nathan Deal (Georgia) there since its the company is in a high growth industry. Prior to the celebration, I had given the CEO two pens that I had made from a Red Cedar tree that came off the site during construction (I also made them some bowls, but thats a later presentation), one for him ... the other for the Governor.
Well today they presented the Governor with the pen that I made and even acknowledged me personally for making it. Its a real honor for me. Here is the pen I made for him. (it looks like defects at the center band, but thats lighting and the funky coloring of cedar)
Thanks for letting me share that story!
