Pretty cool idea! I could not really tell in the photos but I wonder how they keep the side "hinges" from sliding off their respective rods/dowels? Maybe they are just a very tight press fit.

Mount the ring from left with glue on the rod and do the same with the hinge from the other side. Glue both only on the rod, not on the wall!
Now the rod can rotate in his wall hole and the hinges are fixed.
