I have been working with Versatex to help test new products, and one of my requests was that they develop a biscuit that can be used with a standard biscuit joiner. It was released this week, and should work with other extruded PVC products as well.

I build a lot of reproduction parts in PVC such as columns and have always splined to aid alignment as the product is slippery when glued. The splies are not necessary for strength as the glued joint is as strong as the material, so the biscuits will speed things up considerably.

Also this past week they have released 1 1/2" material in sheets and lineal goods. It took them a while to dial in the system so that there was consistant texture all the way through the material. I have milled this material on the shaper and it is very consistant, a problem in the past as the center would be grainy and require further paint prep. It now can be worked just like solid wood.
