In light of Memorial Day, I wanted to share this link. I cried, but then, I am a woman. I know Memorial Day is about those lost to duty, but this is a fine piece about the commercialism that surrounds the day, and remembering the fallen. God bless the families of those who have given all.

That's a good piece about a hero with a quiet dignity . The word "heroics" is misused and should be changed as the story will most likely be widely distributed ,and deserves it.

It's an interesting story!

On Memorial Day I always think of those HS classmates of mine who didn't survive Vietnam.......and I think of all those others who paid the maximum price in service to this country.

Btw Belinda, Michael and his landscape architecture classmates loved that cemetery in Savannah. They also followed your expert advice for social, drinking and eating establishments. Thanks for the help.

Rod, we have an equivalent - it's called the Remembrance Day.
The province of Newfoundland and Labrador has an actual Memorial Day on July 1.

Glad I could be of assistance. Bonaventure is beautiful, any time of year. I hope they had such a good experience that they will return again, and maybe you will tag along.
