I would order one but it only comes in that white color and that would just not go with the color scheme of my shop.

I have the Baileigh ES-6100 oscillating edge sander on the way, I'll get it on Wednesday. Retail on it is $1095.00 from what I can tell, it's a rock solid sander. I'll do a review on it & get back to you guys.

Makes my old Oakley look pretty crude. Wonder if I'll be tied to the chair when the used ones hit the market. Dave

The Europeans can really make some nice machines. Too bad you could make one here in the states that nice for less money.

Nice, but I like my fleabay Vega edge sander for 400 dollars, but that 400 dollars wouldn't even buy the airline ticket for the tech when the electronics break down in the sander in the video.

I wish I knew how to properly link a video .. I have tried.

I watched a Langzauner sander demo at the woodworking show in Atlanta.. Joos is the distributor in the USA .. If my memory serves, the machine was $24000...

The Kundig edge sander (loaded ) was $18,000 ( I think ) ..

I want one of those surfacers from Newton ..

Nice machine. I never thought there was a need for an N/C autofeed edge sander, but apparently there is. My old Acme works just fine, though, and is one of the most useful tools in my shop.

The auto feed edge sander with a jointer style fence is awesome for removing an exact amount of material per pass. Cabinet doors is a great example.

I have a much humbler Felder with a fence and it will remove 1/1000 or 1/500 per pass with a power feeder.. if you sand a whole kitchen full of doors, they each get smaller by the same amount.

Okay.. I will ship the Felder to you ..

I think I have edge sander envy ..

Funny I remember you and I watching that sander in Atlanta. Standing there thinking .. Wow .. Someone really went all out building an edge sander .. Nice job.. lol

That reminds me of my funky old edge sander that I sold a few years back. The Unilev (similar to the Felder, I think) is what I'm using now. These days, I'm thinking along the lines of a shape and sand.

Here is the old through feed sander.

I never realized an edge sander could be that nice. Anyone happen to get a list price? I'm guessing $21,000.00

I have the Felder version but its crude by comparison ..

At the Atlanta show a few years ago, I believe it was $24,000 ..

Another awesome edge sander is the Kundig which I think is about $19,000 for the loaded version. Perhaps its even more .. I cant remember ..

The fence system is awesome for accurate sanding.. Set it to remove a certain amount and like a jointer, that is all that is removed.

That above video is the Kundig ..

The kundig has a tilting sanding head and is 2 sided.. if you set it for 45 degrees, the other side is 135 degrees.

With all that technology, what if you want to take off a little more on one end than the other?

Rick Fisher

Bill .. one side is high end fancy .. high tech .. the other side is a boring edge sander.. where you can sand outside curves and sharpen pencils .. stuff like that ..

"sharpen pencils .. stuff like that ."

Hmm.. That's what I thought $450 Lie-Nielsen jointer planes were for.. to cut awesome chisel points!! <j/k>
