I know it's not a big thing, but one thing that I have been doing lately is warming plates for food. What I do is put the plates in the toaster-oven or regular oven for a few minutes before I put the food on them. For things like omelets, fish, and meat, it stops them from going cold as soon as you put them on the plate, and gives a few minutes to enjoy them.

Does anyone else have some cooking tips?

Put a little water on the plate and put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Dump and wipe dry and you have a very warm plate.

I put a plate on top of my toaster/convection oven while it's cooking/heating up something else. It gets the plate hot enough without my hands getting burnt.

The oven gets used a lot as I hate what a microwave does to most meats.
