pen mill with threads?

I have a Rockler pen turning starter kit and noticed that the pen mill that came with it has threads on the "mounting" end. Any clue why they come this way? Sorry if that is a silly question, I just figured that it should come with a hex type to mount in the drill.

I have a couple of older pen mills and when I bought them years ago they came with wooden handles that they screw into. They must be old mills unless you got a handle to go with the kit............Tim.

hmmm that makes sense...do most people use hand drill or use it manually?

I put a coupler nut on the end of mine to use it in my drill press.
