I'm getting ready for the Beverly Hills Art Show this weekend, so I finally got around to taking some photos of my recent work.

1. 5 x 10 Parallam beam (manufactured construction beam - really nasty to work with)
2. 5 x 11 Ash dyed with green artists grade translucent paint. (photo is kind of dull for some reason, the green is much brighter)
3. 5 x 9 Ebonized Beech with Oak Waves

C&C's welcome

I really like the ash with green.......the parallam beam is most interesting........not sure I would enjoy turning that! The ebonized beech is a beauty as well. Hope all goes well with your Beverly Hills show!

The beam one has a very cool look, the ash looks nice but I really like the last one. I love the multiple waves....

Stunning work John. Care to share your process for making waves and the bands? Lovely work.

Very nice work John...been a while since I've seen any of your work. I like the evolution of moving the sections in an indexed mode with the asymmetry it makes. Real nice. I'm sure you'll do well in the show, your pieces really stand out well.

Good luck with the show, John. The bowls all look wonderful, but I really like the ash dyed with green.

Wow.. that is incredible looking. No clue how you would make them, but spectacular to look at and puzzle over. Thanks for showing.

John Gorgeous work as always. Every single one is stunning in it's own way. I kinda dig the construction beam, great texture, looks like your end result made it worth it! The ebonized beech with oak waves is a show stopper though, the delicate waves really grab my attention, especially with the contrast in value between the two components.

Beautiful work John! The parallam piece has a very cool look to it and they all look great, but I think my favorite would be the ash with the green dye. I just really like the color combination on that one.

Thanks for all the kind comments. I'm really enjoying this new "twist" on my waves.

Very nice on all John though the dyed ash with colored interior seems to grab my attention the most.

Beautiful pieces, John. The last one particularly appeals to me.

All three are great, but one and two appeal to me the most.

I've never got my paws on any parallam to try turning, but would imagine it is not the most pleasant experience.
