262174262175 My Dad's D8 has been around the house for years. I sent it to Mike Allen in Carlsbad, CA to make a saw out of it again. The saw was made between 1878-1888. I have no idea when my Dad got it. I recall, when I was very young, of him ripping a long board to put double windows in the kitchen of our old house in Philip, SD. As with most folks of the time they could do almost anything. He was a for real Cow Bow, carpenter, welder, gunsmith, mechanic and BS artist.

Great looking saw.

Back in the old days one had to be able to do a lot of different things just in order to get away with being a good BS artist.

That is a gorgeous saw. The handle is immaculate - did Mike strip it and refinish it or was it just that well cared for?

I'm sure it cuts beautifully too. Mike's a total pro.

Mike sais he had to "Clean it up" He put linseed oil and some other things on by the light of the North Moon. It sure cuts Now I have to learn hoe to use it. I ripped into some cherry and the line in right on after getting started.
