I am looking to purchase some highly figured wood on the internet. Looking at quilted maple and birdseye maple. May only want to try about 5 board feet the first time. Any suggestion for this type of wood?

Ray,

Try the following link. They donated some wood to the Swapmeet and I believe some of the folks here at the creek have ordered wood from them.

I'll second the motion for Curly Woods! Mike has great stuff.

Ray -

Saw some of his stuff this weekend at the Saw Mill Creek Swap Meet. Nice wood. Curly Woods is definitely the place to get it.

Curly woods is great and awesome to work with. I would also reccommend Northwest Timber. Their selection is in a word AWESOME! Here is the address... http://nwtimber.catalog.com/browseGroup.cfm The nice thing about their website is that they have photos of real boards to buy. Makes it nice. I think the guy I have worked with is named Ryan. He is very helpful.

Here's another one to try http://nwwood.com/

Chris is a good guy and the prices (at least locally) are good.

Mike beat me to it....Mr. Mastin (another Mike) has a great selection and is very pleasant to deal with. I only wish I needed to buy more of his stock so I could have an excuse to drive out there more often (I live 30 miles south of his store).

Thanks for the information. I decided to order some curly maple from Curly Woods and quilted maple from NorthWest Timber. I am anxious to see wood from both places.
