Hi, all -

Recently picked up a "new" camera - a wooden 8x10 field camera:

I'm considering a refinish job on this, but need to ID the wood. The camera is likely Indian-made, anywhere from the '20s to the '50s. Typically, those cameras were made from teak. But this doesn't look like aged teak to me. Anyone have any ideas, just by looks?

"Bakul" or "Jack" would be my best guess.
Good luck, looks like a neat project.

I've never heard of Bakul, and can't find anything online right now.

Turns out the camera is a Rajah, which were typically teak. This just doesn't look like teak to me, though.
