Box Elder is not readily available around these parts
so I had to think "outside the square" and make something
special with the piece I gained from a friend.
To give the impression of a suspended clock I set it within
a piece of clear Perspex, turned the wood to fit and here is
the result.
Comments and critique most welcome.

Nice work Alan. I really like your clock and the suspended look. I'm not sure about the flat spot where the ring sits on the base but can't think of a better solution.

I like the idea......nicely done! The top of the base could have a groove into which the round frame fits........that would make this one even better than it is......of course.........hindsight is always 20/20.............nice concept, nicely done, and I know your friend will love it!

Very well done, Alan. It's hard to tell from the photo...what are the dimensions?

Thank you all for your comments.
Richard: Dimensions are - height 4¾" width 3½"
and the clock just a shade under 1½"
