OK, I know what a Harlequin set of hollow & rounds is. It's a half set (evens or odds) of 18 hollow & rounds by different makers.

But lately, I have seen several sets listed as "Double Harlequin" They are still half sets of mix & match makers so I'm confused.

Anyone know???

Not sure, but are Harlequin sets usually with the H & Rs matched in individual sizes?

A quick look indicates my thought has consensus.

A Harlequin set has the paired H & R by the same maker. A double Harlequin set has the pairs made up from different makers.

Until today, I've never heard the term "double harlequin". But Jim's explanation makes sense.

I see three listings on the bay for double harlequin sets. I haven't seen that term used until now. I learn something new on these forums everyday! Those prices seem pretty fair, too.

Once again I think you've answered my question Jim. As Zach said, it certainly does make sense anyway. Thanks.
