I just got some 6" from blastgateco. Quick shipping, great products....
But how do I attach steel duct?
Presumably I caulk the inside of the of the joint; but do I also put screws in?
Do I have to drill holes first?

Calk and self tapping sheet metal screws. I usually drill a pilot- when I'm feeling ambitious- because the screws will break- #6 for sure, #8 maybe. Dave

HI Wade,
I used 3 pop rivets pre gate, and caulk.

I would use the screw method. Easy to make changes if needed later.

No caulk. Screws and aluminum tape (not duct tape).

I recently moved. Caulked joints were very difficult to undo.
