Yes, it's not an Ipad. It's a woodpad. Made out of mahogany with two magnets to hold it closed. This is a prototype that measures 6 x 7 inches.

Gary and Dan, both are very nice. I like the inlay in yours Gary. Dan can you show or explain more about your hinge.

The hinges are some pieces of flat stock brass pinned with 1/8 brass rod along the spine of the pad. Each piece of brass has two holes but they needed to be elongated to allow the front to become the back. Overall the system is a little sloppy as my brass flat stock was bit on the thin side (maybe 1/16th), but the wife is impressed and that's what counts.
