Hi, it's been quite a while since I posted and changing my details and
eMail address only added to the confusion. I have now re-registered
and looking forward to participating.

I managed to get some Osage Orange from a property when it was being
sub-divided for a housing development. The photo attached is a small
trinket box with a hinged lid.

Hope you like it.

Nice box! Does Osage orange grow natively in Australia? Hope to see more of your work along.....

Alan, glad you have rejoined us! Beautiful work! I like the simple form and we don't see hinged lids very often around here! Looks like it really dresses things up! Looking forward to seeing more of your work!

like your box, the hinged lid is interesting, the orange looks like my bradford pear around here, like the non-glow finish

Many thanks for your kind remarks.

Roger: Osage Orange not native to Australia but a local farmer had a stand
of 51 trees on his property. All but three were mulched to make way
for housing development. I managed to get a trailer load about four
years ago. The trees were over 80 years old.
Scott: Did not expect to find you on here. Will show you the box next
Tuesday night at our woodturning club.

Nice work Alan. I would consider a hinged round box unusual - but it works.
