I'm getting ready to start a large project of tables and bookcases; specs call for clear reclaimed long leaf pine or southern yellow pine. I'll need 4/4, 5/4, 6/4 and possibly 8/4 from 3" to 8" wide.
Anyone have any good sources for reclaimed pine, preferably in the Philadelphia area. I need clear stock, no nail holes or other imperfections, so I'm willing to have it shipped from anywhere if need be.
Thanks.

Theres a guy up here in Chester county who has a sawmill and he specializes in reclaimed long leaf pine and other species. He has a whole yard full of old beams he cuts into flooring and other stuff. I'll get his number for you if you would like.

You will find what you want but you won't find a place with significantly lower prices.Man,that stuff is expensive ! Im told that all those dealers know each other and are often all walking around the building that will come down and basically bidding on not just buying the pine but getting the thing taken down etc.

Both Chester and Lancaster counties have a good number of people dealing in wood. A little shopping and comparing might get you lower prices. Have you tried woodfinder.com, adds in FWW, and some of the local magazines catering to home design in the eastern Pa. area?

I wanted to add that the people at Hearne Hardwoods in Oxford are real nice. Even if they don't have it they may be able to steer you to someone that does.
