The round parts I understand, but the squares on the top and bottom of the sculpted areas are just fantastic.......looks like it was a lot of hand work with those! Very nicely done!

Not sure, but it looks to me like the lathe just held the pieces while a router with a vertical bit followed the template, then the edges were sanded over. Nice job though.

Perhaps therming -- each of the four faces looks slightly rounded, which is consistent with therming.
