Anyone know of a source of Metric Upcut Router Bits that could be used with Festool Dominos. I have actually been surprised that they aren't a stock item by either Onsrud or Whiteside. I can't justify a Domino Joiner but it would be nice to just use the dominos when needed.

Anyway help appreciated - Cheers Bill

Eagle America has some spiral metric bits that might work:

I bought a Whiteside RU4910 for 10mm domino use. It is made by Whiteside for exactly that use.

You can also buy Domino cutters from Festool or CMT. You will need a router with a 10mm collet.

What size are you looking for?

Thx all for the comments and suggestions. after more research here is what I have found and further thoughts:

1) I can't find RU4910 in the Whiteside catalog but have yet to download and search their pdf version. I did find an old post on another forum that said this bit was exclusive to Rockler - will check with them as I can't find it in their online offering.

2) I did find a 10mm collet at http://www.usroutertools.com/product_p/se6403.htm

3) I was hoping to find bits that would be 8mm, 10mm and 12mm in a cutting length similar to Onsrud (1" to 1.5")

4) Concerning using the Festool or CMT bits - from the online catalog it looks like the Festool 10mm and 12mm may have limited shaft length to chuck in a 10mm collet - will have to look at them in person

It is obvious from looking around that this is not an original idea but also not one with an easy answer like "order Lee Valley kit #". I was hoping to find a solution that someone else had used successfully and safely - I get very conservative when things are moving at 22,000 rpm!

Thx for the help and if any other ideas please pass them along and I will let you know if I find a nice solution - Bill

Why not use a 1/2" shank bit in a 1/2" shank collet without having to order anything special?

Eagle america has spiral upcut bits in 8 and 10mm with a 1/2" shank. Part #s 106-0695 and 106-0565
Cutting lengths are 1" and 1 1/8".

Yeah I meant to mention that as well - was hoping to find something similar to Onsrud like 1.5" to 1.75" length.
