I know it was a travesty but I also know that the campus was closed and there were no classes that day.
43 years ago today I was standing on a riot line at Kent State and was wondering what had happened. There was a company jeep right behind us and we heard over the company radio from our company commander that we have some dead up here. Everyone that heard that thought that some of our troops were killed and didn't know it was students and not guardsmen.

This topic can't possibly go anywhere but into a political discussion. The issue was explosive 43 years ago and I am sure that it remains the same today whenever the subject is discussed.
