I figure it's still a woodworking project so I'd like to share it with you with less explanation. This is my submission to the contest sponsored by Baileigh Industrial. Be sure to go to the link & vote for your favorite Baileigh box when the poll opens.
Please enjoy.261346261347261348261349

Well, I guess I can stop work on mine now. There is no way I can match that.

I sure some executive at Baileigh would love to have that sitting on their desk.

Thanks very much everyone. I have to say though, I hope we are an inspiration and not an intimidation. When I came to SMC I was nowhere near the woodworker I am now. So much of what I do, I learned from the incredible talent shared here. If I can ever assist in any of you in your builds, please feel free to contact me. It's my way of paying it forward, I thank you all very much.

Jim, you are too kind, thanks very much. There's a lot of excellent entries in the contest, be sure to take inspiration form all of them and vote for your favorite. It's important that we support sponsors like Baileigh when they step up with a contest like this. That will keep them coming back with more. (Not to mention, they just seem like good folks.)

Ahhh, ribs, a single malt, and a Montecristo. I think I'll just watch woodworking!

Rick, I'm thinking lagavulan 16 yr, a Partagas siere d #4 while the 3-2-1 on the ribs is going. 3 hours of smoke, 2 hours in foil & 1 hr in sauce. Of course this is after I clean the month long disaster I made in my shop, place looks like a hurricane went through the front door.

Ken, thanks so very much, we go back a long time & your opinion is well respected by myself and the members here. It means a lot so again, I thank you.

Bill, what an inspiration you are! Roughly how many hours would a box like that take? What is the finish and how is it applied! Thanks again for showing what can be achieved,

Thanks Gene, I'm just paying it forward. I worked on it 3 nights a week for about 3 hrs a day & about 12 hours on the weekends for a month. Towards the end of the contest I worked on it at work for a few days too. The box is sanded with 220, 320, 400, 600. Then the finish is 3 coats of 2lb cut shellac with a pumice stone rubbed in with DNA to fill fine voids. It's basically the process for a french rub. Then 3 coats of satin WOP and the last 2 coats sprayed on.
