For anyone new to demonstrating or wanting to improve their demonstrating skills, I wanted to alert you to this video on YouTube. Run time is approximately 64 minutes http://youtu.be/igIMk9B9vL8
In this video Frank Penta demonstrates how to plan, organize, prepare and deliver a successful woodturning demonstration. He also describes the importance of developing a handout and how to prepare an effective handout. This video was produced by the Chattahoochee Woodturners, AAW Chapter 112, Gainesville, GA. Frank gave this presentation at the Southern States Woodturning Symposium Xl on April 30, 2011. Frank Penta's presentation was based on a couple of "Best Practices" on demonstrating he authored for the American Association of Woodturners. These are both great standalone references that are available for download from the AAW website http://www.woodturner.org/community/chapters/practices/
