I have a PC brad nailer and pancake compressor. Worked fine for years. Suddenly today it starts driving nails too deep and I notice that gauge reads 130 psi--too high? What should I do to resolve this. Thanks in advance

There is a buffer on the inside of the cylinder that controls the depth, and that sometimes break.

If the nailer is setting nails too deep, turn down the air pressure on the tool.

Many air compressors have two gauges. One is the pressure inside the tank. The other is the air pressure after the regulator -- that is, what is going to the nailer. You don't say which pressure you're saying is 130 psi. I generally run nailers at something like 70 psi.

If this is a sudden change on your system, the regulator may have broken.

Adjust the nailer depth gauge.

130 sounds too high for most brad nailers. Check you manual for the recommended pressure and adjust your regulator accordingly.

Here's a pic of my PC 18 gauge nailer...my finger is pointing at the depth adjustment knob.
