I am looking for leather sheaths for a couple of knife kits that I bought. I am finally getting around to finnishing them and cannot find a source for sheaths that fit and are in stock. I have tried one online retailer and waited for two month while they were on backorder.

Does your local Tandy Leather store have a kit to make one?

CW does custom leather work at very reasonable prices. He does leather work for me on occasion. Great work at reasonable prices and he is fast.

I bought a large piece of 10 ounce tooling leather on eBay. That's thick. What do you use the rest for after the sheath? Lining vise jaws, leathering your beautiful ash oars against chafing in the locks, sheath for your LN LA block plane.

I know at my Tandy leather store, when I lived in Maryland, taught me how to do leather tooling so maybe your local store will help you on how how to make a sheath x five. Just a thought.

Try Leatherworker Forum at leatherworker.net. Lots of good information on that forum regarding leather work and sewing. There are lots of forum members who make knife sheaths and firearm holsters. There are also several advertisers on the forum that can supply leather you would need.
