Good morning everyone,
I was recently presented with a Grizzly tablesaw Model G1022. It is a 10 inch, Tilting Arbor saw that was purchased in Jan. 1989, and it is in dire need of a tuneup. My question is, should I take the time to disassemble this GEM and does anyone here have any experience with this saw? I can list the things that I see that need attention, but I'm sure that there are many things I don't know about. Do you think the good folks at GRIZZLY would have any pointers in getting this tool operating safely again?

Thanks for any help you can offer me.

Rick

Manual should give you most of what you need.

Product manual: http://cdn0.grizzly.com/manuals/g1022_m.pdf
Parts list: http://cdn0.grizzly.com/partslists/g1022_pl.pdf

There are 8 variations for the 1022 so you can get those different manuals here: http://www.grizzly.com/manuals

There is an older video called "Mastering Woodworking Machines" by Mark Duginske. It's available through libraries, Netflix, etc. It has a step by step discussion on how to tune a contractor's saw. Duginske is a very practical, no nonsense guy who knows his stuff.

Inline Industries have some helpful products which make contractor's saws perform better. Here (http://www.in-lineindustries.com/performance_pack.html) and here (http://www.in-lineindustries.com/saw_pals.html). In addition, shop for a decent thin kerf blade
