I'm looking for a first jointer on a limited budget. Came across this at an estate sale today. Priced at $150. Will be negotiable if its there tomorrow. Will be half off if its there Saturday.

1. Is this a fair enough first jointer? It would match my lathe. :-)

2. What the right price to be a deal? Not a fair used pice but a deal.

Thanks!

My first jointer was an old 4" Delta jointer,I still have it and use it often for small/short pieces .I only paid $60 for it .
It was in perfect working order ,came with a new set of knives.$150 for a 6" delta jointer in good working condition is a good deal in my opinion.

I bought a Delta Rockwell 37-220 6" jointer for $180 in good working worder. I did replace the knives and power chord. It had some surface rust, but not bad. If this is a floor model, I would say $150 is a good price.

If it is what I think it is the $150 is a more than fair price. I have two of them. paid $250 for the first one which I thought was a good deal. The second one was about $100 which was a real steal. Go for it. Jared

It appears to be a 6" No. 654 .

It's hard to tell from pictures whether it's a 4" or 6" machine as they were proportionally identical.

Based on the size of the serial number tag it's more likely that it's slightly older than the seller remembers.

That model is a nice solid machine. It's the older short bed but still capable of doing great work.

The stand isn't stock (made by Delta). I'm not sure that matters to you or not.

Congratulations. You have a very nice machine for a good price.
