I know this guy who has a Dayton 12" cabinet saw, and wants to sell it to me. From what I can find, it is a Grainger house brand, and I found a pic of a Craftsman saw that looks the same. It's a big, black, heavy saw, single phase 3 HP, circa 2004.

It's in good shape, with little use, and I can get it pretty cheap. It is missing the fence, which certainly affects the price, but I just happen to have a Beis fence.

So, what do you think it is worth? Is it worth buying at all? I have a price in mind, but don't want to influence your answers.

Thanks,
Rick Potter

I don't think I'd pay over $400 without a fence. On my local craigslist there is always a 3hp cabinet saw for cheap. So many are being replaced by SS, sliders, etc that it is really a buyers market.

Thanks David,

I just called the owner and told him I was no longer interested. He is asking $400, and I am pretty sure he would take less, but I am not sure it is the right saw for now. I am considering buying one just for dado's.

If anyone else might need a heavy, 12" saw, it's on the Inland Empire CL.
