Now that's something that you cannot not comment on. Stunning piece. Again, you are standing way outside that proverbial box we mention sometimes.... Beautiful work... Jerry (in Tucson)

How did you get the metal in there? And then how did you get it to not shrink when it cooled and how did it not char the wood?

It is a very unique piece.

Hi Joe , the metal has been fused with a soldering iron and a small gas torch, if it is too hot not attack, you must maintain a temperature not too high, I hope I have explained it well, my English is not too good i'm very sorry ... :o , thank you very much for your question .. is a pleasure to share :)

Very interesting and imaginative piece. Would this be called "fused wood". What alloy is the 'inlay'?
Stunning indeed.
P.S. your English is much better then my Italian! I fumble through Italy speaking Spanish, and it usually works although get lots of quizzical looks.

Beautiful piece. Since I don't know metals, is this a type of silver, pewter, or solder?

That is a very cool looking piece. Stunning actually. Can you give us details on how you made it. What are the dimensions?

Write it out in your native language, then put it through Google Translator. It will make it easier on you.

it is made from a erica burl, cracks are filled with the molten
tin, I used a soldering iron
and a small electric torch gas, it is the first type of this
experience and I am solving some
defect about hinges, but it was really a stimulating work and
the measures are max
diameter 23 cm. (9.44 inch), height 12 cm. (4.72 inch)
thank you very much for your questions Dennis

That is awesome. I want to know how to do that without burning it. YouTube? Barrell hinges were a nice touch; only seen that once before. Nice work Francesco!
