I recently picked up an old Skilsaw Model 825 (wormdrive, 8 1/4" blade) at a yard sale. Seems to run well, but it could use an oil change and a new gasket or two. Does anyone have an old 825 manual and/or parts list they could scan and send to me? Or know where to find them online? I looked at the Skil website and they just have manuals and parts lists for the models they currently sell.

No idea what year it was made, but the serial number is B146431. Can anyone can estimate the year the saw was made based on this serial number?

Thanks.

Those are neat old beasts. I don't know for sure, but I would guess early to mid 50's for manufacture date. Sorry, no manual here.

I think it was early to mid 60's. My dad had one, he was very proud of it, he wouldn't let me even touch it!

Sears has quite a few parts available for that saw here. (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Skil-Parts/Saw-Parts/Model-825TYPE13/0981/0744410/00067218/00001?blt=06&prst=&shdMod=) It's interesting to imagine what that saw must have cost new. Probably a significant investment for a professional.
