Forrest Blades has introduced a new WWI for Festool saws. 2 different models:

160mm 50T ----- $94.99
190mm 50T ----- $99.99

Details are available on the Forrest Web Site (http://forrestblades.com). I would expect these new blades to be top performers (based on my long time experience with Forrest blades). Like I usually say:

Just for reference, the forrestblades.com is a third-party reseller, albeit one with about the best prices! The Forrest Manufacturing site is http://forrest.woodmall.com/.

It's good to see that Tony and company continue to bring out new versions of their excellent blades. I recently received their new 20t ripping blade and hopefully will give it a workout this weekend.

The Wood Mall is a 3rd Party reseller also (I believe). The best prices are through the link I provided.

Also if you check out the link he provided it says right at the top "We are the Original Equipment Manufacturer"

Hmmm seems no doubt this is not a third party reseller.

Forrest Manufacturing just happens to keep their direct online presence "physically" in the WOODMALL, but it is the "real" company. I was only trying to clarify that 3-D is not "Forrest"...the latter is in New Jersey.

3-D definitely has the best prices, although you don't get the sharpening coupons. They are even better prices if you catch 3-D at a show! (My most recent WW-II 40t purchase was $89 at a show) The 20t ripping blade I had to buy direct as 3-D just couldn't seem to get it on their site, even after I had a back and forth email conversation with them about it.

I guess I was using the wrong terminology when I referred to WoodMall as a "third party". I kinda think of the Wood Mall as like buying a Delta or a Jet from Amazon.com as an example -- they all have to get their cut. I have always considered 3D as "The Forrest Source" I bought my first Forrest from them in 1991 and have been a faithful customer ever since. They are the folks that represent Forrest at the WW Shows. And if you are "real nice" like this old man you can get sharpening coupons -- Ask Ron Meadows.

Ken,

I have to go with you on the Forrest Blades, they are excellent. I have a 100T blade that has cut truckloads of plywood for a cabinet job I do three times a year. One Forrest blade can outlast a bunch of the cheapos, so the Forrest is the best value.

Can't agree with the Deere, they make great tractors but in the mower category they are way behind...why run like a Deere when you can fly on a Chopper :) The Worlds Fastest Mower!

Brent, Festool blades sell for $21-49 for 160mm, $28-65 for 190mm.

I would guess that the comparable blades would be the "Fine tooth saw blade", 48 teeth ATB in either diameter. Price on those is $28 for small, $39 for large.

Pick your color. Mine is orange and it does a most excellent job mowing with a 60" MMM...as well as a whole lot of other things that a Z can't do with the FEL and Hoe. Deere didn't have anything in this class when I bought and the local green dealer also left something to be desired. In most cases, buying this kind of equipment is like buying a cabinet saw...the differentiators are there, but not always significant! It's the dealer that makes the difference.

Hi Brent,

Dave is correct that the Festool blade that is comparable to the Forrest is the Fine Tooth saw blade (48t ATB). However the price per blade is $37.00 for the ATF 55 and $49.00 for the ATF 65.

Regards,

Bob

Crud, my apologies. My eye dropped to the next item down in the price list when I transcribed that...
