Was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on settings for cutting 3/16" cork. I am trying to cut rubberized cork on a 40watt Epilog mini and not having much luck. Might not be possible? Best I have been able to do is shallow cuts and it's pretty charred when done.

There are several posts on cork in the forum. Check out these threads

I do 1mm rubberised cork and it's lucky that it is thin because the cut edges are horrible.

I don't like doing it because everything gets filthy and the smell hangs around for ages, so I charge a lot (but they keep coming back).

15 Speed, 100 power, 600 Frequency on our 40w helix

Wow, my settings are way different. For 1/8", 60 sp/30p/1000 fr cuts through no problem on my 35w mini. Leaves a black edge but smooth.

Those are my settings with 1/4" cork (maybe 3/16"). I will try increasing the frequency and the speed and lower the power next time to see what happens. I just started with my 1/4" solid wood settings and and started changing until I got a decent cut and then stopped. More experimenting on the way.

Brian was asking about ***rubberised*** cork - different animal to ordinary cork.

The thin stuff is used for gaskets. Don't know what the 3/16 stuff would be used for.

Try applying transfer tape to the top, then misting well with water before cutting.
