This will be my first use of my 2 year old Graco 9.0. I just finished the armoire in Woodsmith 198 it is Cherry with black painted top and base. The base and top will unscrew and come off so there is no need for taping. My question is the paint store gave me black enamel paint. I've been told it's not a good idea to laquer over enamel paint. Which would not be a problem if the sheen of the paint is the same as the laquer (satin). The manager of the paint store told me it would be ok as long as I let the enamel cure out for three or four days. Also the top is made of particaleboard and poplar I was wondering since enamel stays wet so long if it would be a good idea to rattle can some primer on the particaleboard. (The reason the Graco stayed on the shelf for 2 years is because I was afraid of screwing something up.)

Thanks Mike

if its enamel, lacquer can lift it, meaning make it crinkle up like a prune , not a good idea.
