No different taste. He's caught all indo blue ones, yellow ones & one that was half yellow & blue. Split right down the middle length ways.

Any chance it was in the middle of a molt? I don't know when season is offhand...

It wasn't molting & yes I've had some where a hammer was needed.They molt between June & July. They are called new shell lobsters & are soft with the meat all shrunk up after molting....Some like the soft shells because their easier to get into but I don't think they taste as good.

In my younger days, My wifes uncle taught me how to fish a lobster out from under a rock at low tide while keeping one eye on the high tide shoreline for the fish warden.. It's quite a skill you know!

did you hear any strange music when you caught them, like from the 50's, i remember some large crabs movies (tractor trailer size)

Strange music, large crabs, girls the size of tractor trailers...
