Why not just veneer your own?

Wow! That would be one expensive job! What was it going to be used for?

Not really setup for that, I just won't try and bid it out. Let a larger cabinet shop take it.

It was going to be for various cabinets i.e. entertainment center, small side component modules. 3+ exposed faces.

No, I just can't seem to fathom $500 - $1000 for a sheet of plywood.
(Unless it's Shlamaca veneer!:D )

Assuming an 4x8 sheet, thats 48" * 96" * 0.75" = 3456 cu. in.
3456 cu. in / 144 cu. in. per bd. ft = 24 bd. ft.
$500 / 24 bd. ft. = $20.83 bd. ft.

Sounds like it might be cheaper to do it with real wood!

Last time I got some, it was 4x8 sheets of veneer, WOW (wood on wood) for 420 a sheet. As long as you price the job accordingly, and allow for a two sheet screw up, that pricing sounds reasonable. MDF core is nice for doors. If you laminate it yourself, make sure you laminate the other side as well, with something similar in thickness.
