I know Rockler sells it in 58" lengths and there is at least one old post here that lists another source but the link is no longer active. Naturally trying to keep it inexpensive as possible so looking for maybe an independent source of made up shutter louver material. Anyone know of a current supplier?

Sorry, I don't know of a supplier other than Rockler either, but the cost of 2 - 58" pieces equaled the cost of all the louvers in one of these doors.
I made mine with Rockler's louver bit. Ran some on a standard R/T and the rest on my horizontal R/T, which is easier. Not counting the time to mill the 3/8" stock, it took 3 un-hurried minutes for all 4 passes each. I used maple for these doors (4).

Joe, I think you just used my question as an excuse to brag by showing your beautiful doors. Kidding of course. Very nice and thanks for posting your
DIY experience.

Thank you, but I showed the pic to illustrate my response AND show that I was not just talking, but actually had the experience as stated!

Michael - here's a source for shutter components - http://www.petermanlumber.com/product.php#shutter. You'll have to click on CATALOG and then browse until you find the shutter section.
Here's another source but I believe you'll have to call them for a quote - http://www.diyshutters.com/shutter-parts.htm
