Today I went into a thrift store that sometimes has some hand tools.
Rather pleased with these two:
258714
2101 Yankee Brace and a Yankee push drill
258711258712258713
Best part was the prices on these two. $6 for the brace, $4 for the push drill. Steals as far as I'm concerned
They also had a pile of bench planes. I have pretty much a full set of Stanley planes (3, 4, 5, 5 1/2, 6, and 7). They had a few planes I was interested in, but the prices were probably average retail prices. I gave this a quick look, then moved on. Then, something in my head said, "wait a sec" and I did a double take
258715

It's an aluminum #6! I knew Stanley made aluminum planes but had never actually seen on in real life. It was marked $40, and I talked them down to $35. Will it ever get used, probably not. But, it's still a cool plane. I hadn't considered myself a collector previously, but I think I might be headed that way...... uh oh. Not a bad day for a few bucks under $50.
