This is a decent piece of flame box elder. It is about 15" wide and around 1" thick. I hope it will not warp too much. I was unable to make it thicker as it had some major torn grain from the felling cut. Enjoy. Russell

That is an amazing piece. Being end grain, what are you planning on for final thickness? I do not have any real experience with end grain that diameter, but smaller diameter has always had check problems. Is there some way to use some hardner under vacuum to solidify the wood and help prevent the checking and maybe also warping? Anyone out there with experience on this.

Warp, probably not. Crack? probably will at that thickness. If you get it around 1/4 thick or less it may survive.
