View Full Version : Getting super glue off of a brass plaque

I super glued a brass plaque into a lid of a box and a little got on the plaque and I want to give it today. Any suggestions

I usually find soapy hot water will free it. Most glues do not adhere that well to brass.

There is a product made special to dissolve or "debond" super glue. It can be found at most hobby stores and probably craft stores. There are literally hundreds of hits on a Google search for this topic. Whatever you decide, test it first to make sure it doesn't adversely mark/discolor you brass!

Acetone is typically used. In a pinch, fingernail polish (based on acetone) works also.
