Hi all -

Has anyone seen a practical plan for a sanding/routing downdraft table?

I'd also need it to serve double-duty as an outfeed table for my TS.

If it makes a difference, I use 6" hose to my DC.

Thank you.
Howard

Howard, since you are going to "Power" your downdraft table with your DC, check out Terry Hatfield's website. He made one "Powered" by his DC that could be made into a table by adding legs.

His site is: http://www.terryhatfield.com

Check out this site. It's my next shop project as soon as I can get my hands on one of these blowers.

Peter,

I don't know about around you, but around here the local HVAC shops have literally piles of old blowers laying around. Most of the time they can be had for a case of beer. If not, the used ones out of old furnaces can be had pretty cheaply. If you can find one, go with a multi speed. It is a nice feature to have and most of the time the highest speed is higher on the multi speed machines than the single speed machines.

I built one of these from an old furnace unit last year. The pictures are posted on my website. Beleive me, you don't need a set of plans for this one! Just knock one out; shouldn't take more than a weekend and it's a great addition to the shop. I built mine the same height as the tablesaw and it sits beside the saw in my case for support of wide peices, as I have a deticated outfeed table extension.
