Congrats Baxter!!! Very well deserved. You've really been cranking out some killer pieces. On a side note, I was at Jim Adkins' house this weekend and saw your blue dyed HF set and was VERY impressed. They were really cool!

Thanks Eric, I am sorry we didn't get to meet though I did get to see your very creative work on display. I stopped in to see Kevin Nee yesterday morning. Although I had only planned on dropping something off and spending a few minutes, it turned into several hours. He asked if I had seen you. I told him I may have, but I only recognized your work. :)

I also got to say hi to Brian Effinger,
258216
the first creeker I ever traded wood with. Met Dave Gilbert and had a very enjoyable time talking with him at dinner Friday night. Talked with Brian Libby and his wife several times and had the privilege of sitting beside Don Orr for dinner on Saturday night. Sunday night it was just the McDonalds Drive thru to keep me entertained for a few miles on the New York Thruway.
Attending TT wasn’t on the schedule for this year but when a planned trip got delayed for several weeks, I decided to work it in. There were several demonstrators that I had never seen but were interested in. Attended two Steve Sinner demo's since I have made a crude copy of his boring bar design.
258217
The Bin Pho demo on airbrushing
258218
and the the one on piercing were very enjoyable and informative since it helped me understand how his rather magical work is created.
258219
The galleries ranged from the very big to the very small
258220
or very detailed.
258221
Work from beginners to those well beyond in terms of skills and creativity were on display.

The woodworkers showcase was even more impressive, and I missed one demo each day so I could enjoy the work. 258224258225258226258227258228258229258230There was also an exhibit upstairs on Antique tools that I found fascinating as well.258231 I took a lot of pictures and sent them to my wife as I walked along since she had other commitments and couldn’t make the trip. The cell phone camera and text messaging ended when I entered the vendor area.;)
Thanks again for all the Congrats. They are appreciated!

Congratulations Baxter. A truly wonderful piece that easily deserved the award. It was a great pleasure to have dinner with you and get to know you better. I had a good time at the event as well. My Sunday was taken up with my volunteering duties so I didn't get to see as much as I wanted. Great show though, glad you could make it.
