Haven't posted anything in a while but thought these needed to be shared.
Jack
Maple HF about the size of a soccer ball. Finished with deft.

Beautiful, Jack! The maple looks like a twofer - spalting as well as Ambrosia beetle tracks.

What method did you use to do your hollowing on these?

Very nice!!! Good lookin' forms Jack! I like the second one the best [red oak burl].........the natural edge opening of the first one is beautiful as well........both have a pretty sweet curve, and who couldn't like the figure in that wood.........boy, that is nice!

Thanks for the compliments everyone. The maple burl is from the same tree as the form I posted last year next to a basket ball. The red Oak burl Form is one of over 30 bowls I've turned from a huge burl that I got a few years back. I have a nice piece of this burl in my freezer to make another couple of bowls someday.

Both are beautiful Jack! Great forms and great looking wood! That's also a heck of an oak burl!
