Sanding square bowl

I do not know if this tip has been discussed, as I am new to turning and the forum. I turned my first square bowl yesterday and sanded the corners by duct tapeing a sheet of sandpaper to a 1 ft. piece of 4" dia foam swim noodle. I was able to hold it against the piece while it was turning and keep my hands away from the corners. I worked down through the grits and it did a great job. Hope this is helpful to others.

Chuck, that sounds like a great idea! Never thought of using those things and I've got a zillion laying around. Seems like that would be helpful on other pieces too!

Someone said they use pipe insulation but I like your idea better and I have a few around the house to.
